Our History

MP Engineering was founded in 2017 as a part-time consulting practice with a clear focus on improving efficiency and value for commercial projects. Since then, we have grown into a trusted provider of professional engineering services, delivering technically sound and dependable solutions across a broad range of commercial developments. Minjae (MJ) Park, P.E.
Principal Engineer

MJ Park is the Founder and Principal Engineer of MP Engineering. He is an experienced geotechnical engineer, designer, and project manager with a proven record of delivering high quality solutions for commercial and government projects throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Texas. His technical expertise and leadership capability are grounded in a diverse career that includes private consulting as well as state and federal government service. 

MJ holds a MS degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Washington, a graduate certificate in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering from the Missouri S&T, and a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the Purdue University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of WA and OR. 

Jintae (James) Lee, PhD, P.E.
Geotechnical Specialist

Dr. Lee brings more than 25 years of combined industry and research experience with deep expertise in pile foundation analysis, slope stability, soil retaining structures, soft ground improvement, and site investigation programs. His background includes extensive in situ and laboratory testing, along with broad involvement in managing complex geotechnical projects from planning through delivery. He integrates strong academic capability with practical, field driven judgment to support high quality engineering outcomes. 

James earned a PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the Purdue University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of WA, OR, WI, and MI.

Sailesh Koirala, P.E.

Sailesh Koirala is a geotechnical engineer with more than 9 years of experience supporting federal projects through subsurface investigations, construction inspections, and field engineering services. Before entering the engineering field, he served as a Water Treatment Specialist (MOS 92W) in the U.S. Army, where he developed strong technical discipline and operational awareness that continue to inform his work.

Minyong (Max) Lee, PhD

Dr. Minyong (Max) Lee is a project engineer with advanced expertise in geotechnical engineering and practical experience in the consulting industry. His doctoral research focused on developing sustainable ground improvement technologies using Microbially Induced Calcite Precipitation (MICP), with an emphasis on reducing environmental impacts and construction costs. He brings a strong blend of analytical capability, research depth, and applied engineering judgment to support complex geotechnical projects.

Minyong holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington.
