Our History

MP Engineering initially established in 2017, as a part-time venture. The company was established with the idea of increasing efficiency and value through consulting on commercial projects. Since then, MP Engineering has further developed as a trusted provider of professional engineering services on numerous commercial projects. We look forward to further expanding our project portfolio and demonstrating our value in the competitive engineering and consulting field.

Minjae (MJ) Park, P.E.
Principal Engineer

MJ Park is the Founder and Principal Engineer of MP Engineering. With a background as a geotechnical engineer, designer, and project manager, he has contributed to numerous commercial and government projects across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Texas. His expertise in geotechnical engineering and project management is the result of a diverse career spanning both private consulting and state and federal government roles. 

MJ earned a MS degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Washington, a graduate certificate in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering from the Missouri S&T, and a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the Purdue University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of WA and OR. 

Jintae (James) Lee, PhD, P.E.
Geotechnical Specialist

Dr. Lee boasts over 20 years of professional experience in both industry and research, with a particular focus on the analysis of pile foundations, slope stability, soil retaining walls, soft ground improvement design, and site investigation. This includes conducting in-situ and lab tests. He possesses not only academic expertise but also industrial experience, having been involved in various aspects of managing geotechnical engineering projects. 

James earned a PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the Purdue University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of WA, OR, WI, and MI.

Sailesh Koirala, P.E.

Sailesh Koirala was a water treatment specialist (MOS 92W) with the U.S. Army. He is currently working at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a geotechnical engineer. He has over 7 years of experience specializing in subsurface investigations and construction inspections for federal government projects.

Sailesh is a graduate of the Boise State University with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. 

Minyong Lee, PhD 
Project Engineer

Dr. Minyong Lee is a project engineer with a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Washington. His research is centered on the development of sustainable geotechnical ground improvement techniques utilizing Microbially Induced Calcite Precipitation (MICP) to mitigate environmental impact and costs.

Minyong holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington.
